Brand Launch: Upon A Time Paperie
So, the year of the shop… It was a good one, but ultimately ended in a closure. You can read about it all here. But one of the many things I’m proud of out of that experience, despite the ending, was the branding. At the time I was relatively new to hand lettering, and it took so many scraps of paper and illustrator edits to get there, but when it was done it was beautiful. And I just loved seeing it transform into signage, gift cards, packaging etc. So many people said to me that they’d seen the signage driving into town and knew they wanted to come and check out the shop, simply because the vibe of the branding spoke to them. So without knowing whether I was selling clothing, homewares, or toothbrushes for that matter, they still knew they needed to visit. And those people were always the ones who loved the products, and most importantly, spent money. So branding win I say.
Even though it’s no longer, that shop and all the lovely branding will always hold a special place in my heart.
I’d love to hear what you think, have you ever thought about opening a shop?
